Do Bad People Exist?

OCD Real Talk: Layers of ROCD & Love Obsessions
Excellent video! I began cultivating gratitude on New Year’s 2024 and it completely transformed my mindset - the motivation to keep doing the work is growth! Growth is health and life (and helps me me a better mum ;) ❤
Thank you so much rob its true🙏🙏🙏🙏
Can sensations include awareness of your personality
U never talk about depression
This happens in sexual orientation OCD as well.
I’m calling the cops- so true though! Recovery is work. Therapy is work. But I don’t have the money for a therapist so I don’t know how to do this on my own such as exposures. So, I wonder for those who do not have the money for treatment, how do we help ourselves?
Hi Nick, I understand the acceptance portion, but how.. how do you accept if the fear is that harm someone, someone you live more than anything and the worst possible fear is taking a life, because for me that is the most evil, unacceptable thing possible in the entire world. How do you accept this.. I just can't, it's an absolutely unacceptable, permanent, unreversable offense. Please advise..
Hey Court - I will do a very indepth video on this within the next few days 🙂
@@OCDrecoveryNick Perfect! I appreciate it ! I'll be watching for it.
Elliot the way you break down concepts is really amazing. No matter how bad you suffered but now your wisdom and ability to break down concepts is such a blessing!
100%!
I decided to go back to school after year's of crontic OCD and anxiety where I thought that I wasn't able to absorb all the information I get during the classes, getting into stoicism helped me to get over the fears of looking stupid infront of my classmates, not having enough time for the gym or simply wasting too much time if I fail the exams and having to do it again the next year. If I fail I will just be where I'm at right now and I'm OK with that, I don't need to proof anything to anyone be getting a degree even if that means that I have to drive a forklift for the rest of my life.
Such a good comment Lumpen, love this!
Thank you so so much 🙏
You're very welcome Melina!
Nice polo!
Great one! Thank you!! 🙏
Yes, Rob and team supported me in being MORE than a conqueror
Can I also do this on the smart phone's notepad?
Hey Cleo - That's fine, we just usually recommend pen and paper for building frustration tolerance
That's some solid advice
Hi Nick, great video! Can you do more videos on breaking down the fears of rejection in dating?
How do I handle that I am studying very little for the huge examination that's coming? I try to study but I end up studying so short and then I feel like I should be angry with myself and stuff.
Hey Anna - Do you think you could learn to accept yourself if you failed because you didn't study enough? Do you think this is something you could learn to do?
@OCDrecoveryNick the thing is, i can, it's gonna be super hard but I can. The main problem is the reaction, disappointment, scolding from teachers and parents which feels impossible to tolerate and be at peace with. And also the way my classmates would judge me because I'm the top student
Thank you Nick. I suffer from rosacea and the causes are unknown. It has been a hell of a journey but I've learned so much.
Hey Nick. please talk about the Socratic Questioning approach to treating ocd.
Amazing video Nick thank you! Love the examples 😂
lol! Thank you! You know I have to make the videos fun as well!
I can't afford your package of ocd but I need help with sensorimotor ocd
❤❤❤❤❤
Can you please tell how to dispute in paper or how to dispute? If already on the channel, please provide link to video
If you type into disputing into the search bar they will come up but the book 'how to stubbornly refuse to make yourself miserable' is the most important.
Why is ocd being conflated with anxiety?
How can I deal with having so many health problems, and being the worst type of person.
I can cover those in separate videos 🙂
@@OCDrecoveryNick please do.
I also have lots of problems and am also the worst type of person so videos would be good
How many beliefs did you break per day at the start of your recovery journey Nick? 😃
Hey Mike! I'd say 20-30 minutes on paper, 5 days per week for a while.
What was the reasoning behind quitting video games if I may ask
Hey YT - So for me I truly couldn't find a way to balance it, I tried for a long time. I kept going back to 10 + hour sessions, it wasn't good lol
please talk about "Socratic Questions" for the treatment of ocd. someone made me do this
Hey guys Been struggling with what i think is ocd, it seems like what is happening it's been with me for 3 years first year was really suicidal, for me its a recurring Memory that has a guilt effect, something that happened that happened when i young im a much better person, but it haunts me and when it appears, Cripples me stops my train of thought and i feel disgusting, i just want it go away please someone help i will do something stupid soon
Would reminding yourself of your beliefs just a few times a day still be compulsive?
Nope! I think in the beginning it's going to happen anyway but the further you move along the journey the less likely it's needed, terrific question.
@@OCDrecoveryNick thanks, Nick. Appreciate what y’all are doing for people
Okay. Good. Cos I've done it like 10 times today. Which is annoying but at the same time they were all consistent and they're getting shorter 😅
Thank you so much, Sam! This is unfortunately not very much talked about in the literature or OCD content online. By far the worst symptom of this disorder, in my experience. Not only do these urges they feel EXTREMELY real, but they feel super intense as well, as if your mind and body is strong-arming you into acting out on it and you're about to snap and lose control any minute. And these urges are impossible to shrug off, they feel so strong that you feel you need to pay attention to them. I find myself staring at people towards whom I'm experiencing these urges to figure it out. Then I give in to compulsions and start analysing and checking for the distress, anxiety, disgust to prove to myself that this is just OCD and you can't find them. It's so painful. 😢
Great points about not forcing concentration, and not multi tasking.
Thanks Lynn! Great to see you in the comments 🙂
Great video
I just watched that twin diet documentaryyy it was so interesting
Right! We are watching one now on living to 100, I love stuff on the blue zones.
You make me laugh🤣
Lol! I really do enjoy making people smile 🙂
excellent video
I really don't understand what you mean by "breaking down and removing the foundations.",sir.
Love your perspective on this. Youre very well spoken
I was reading a page from jeff Foster's deepest acceptance, and it explained a very crucial message, that "thoughts simply appear in what you are, you dont choose your thoughts, but you do put labels on them as good or bad and make judgements arounds them".
Absolutely Midhruv!
It’s torment
hi i wanted to what questions can you ask addicted person that is very angry at the family to get the root cause of their anger... thank you
Great video thank you
Excellent - esp. breaking down fear of fear ❤
I know many people who agree with the thoughts and in my opinion, though great for exposures, I think this can be harmful as the person may start to believe they do and they have to accept this realization they’ve been avoiding. I think OCD needs to change the way we’re reacting to the thoughts and being open to the potential of the thoughts. I think some people agree with the thoughts to possess a feeling of power but I don’t think it’s productive for some people.
Absolutely Laura especially as OCD takes orders from beliefs and not thoughts. Thoughts are symptoms of a deeper issue, rigid beliefs.
Hello, can we please know why it's important to be grateful that we have OCD? I know that it teaches us to be more empathic towards others, so this may be why but I'd like your answer if you are willing to reply. 😊
Hey Hinarushi! I am grateful for my experience with OCD because it helped light a fire underneath me (learning to be persistent, action, more compassion, the skills from recovery translated into many things in business). I am very grateful that I had to go through this.
@@OCDrecoveryNick Thanks for your answer Nick! :)
